Karaka Harbour Side Seawall
Scope of works
Construction of basalt sea wall, including rehabilitation of existing bank, excavation of a seawall toe on the foreshore, import and place compacted suitable fill, installation of geotextile cloth, under layer rock and certified basalt boulders handpicked and graded.
Minor design changes were put forward and approved.
Project was in a public reserve and marine foreshore, works were carried out to ensure members of the public were kept safe and could still access the walkway around the reserve. As the works were tidal a project plan was developed to ensure works carried on throughout the tidal movement.
